“BISTHAPITA”
(DISPLACED).
This Odia
story was written in 2004/2005, was published in Smrutilipi well before the
tragic event of Kalinganagar police firing, so the author was not influenced by
the event, nor the magazine had enough publicity to influence the pro or anti
displacement movement. It was author`s own understanding as he gained from the
society. People of all sects including corporate and Govt may read it to feel
the many angles of displacement. The author is not an activist, not a
politician but a doctor who works in the area that faces rapid
industrialization.
The
situation have changed both in positive and negative direction but the author
is still working (12 years) in the same place as a govt servant.
If any one
feels it is written post firing or for the recent land acquisition ordinance
then it will be my pleasure to justify the story has relevance after a decade.
